Top Scotch in Las Vegas

The Balvenie 50 is the rarest of single-malt Scotches, an ultra-smooth, citrusy and oaky celebration of malt master David Stewart’s 50 years at the Balvenie distillery.

Born in 1962 and bottled in 2012, this Scotch isn’t exactly cheap or easy to find. There are only 10 bottles in the US, and one is now at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas — where you can try a 1.5-ounce pour for $3,400.

Yes, we’re talking thousand-dollar sips. This might sound crazy, but this is the Cosmopolitan, where hundred-thousand-dollar high-roller tabs aren’t uncommon.

If you don’t feel like sharing, maybe make an offer for the bottle. Based on typical bottle-service markups at Vegas nightclubs (including the Cosmopolitan’s Marquee), we figure $750,000 to $1 million is an appropriate offer for all that Scotch. Just please don’t mix it with anything. Where you at, Jho Low? Been a while, Don Johnson. thebalvenie.com, cosmopolitanlasvegas.com
