Giants report card

Offense D

Strange performance. Great on third down (8 of 10) in first half, controlled the ball, no turnovers, Ahmad Bradshaw runs for 103 yards and Eli Manning made some beautiful throws. Yet dreadful penalties (Will Beatty late hold a killer), only one TD all night and fourth-quarter meltdown.

Defense C+

Two games, still no answers vs. rookie RB Alfred Morris (22-124) and big outing from WR Pierre Garcon (8-106, 1 TD). As for Robert Griffin III, catch him if you can — and the Giants couldn’t. He was coolly efficient as a passer (13 of 21, 163 yards) and deadly as a runner (5-72). Not being able to get off field for final 3:51 a real downer.

Special Teams D

Great 50-yard kickoff return by David Wilson called back by holding penalty on Jim Cordle, one of two on Cordle (plus one on Tyler Sash). Lawrence Tynes hit three field goals but needed to hit four, with uncharacteristic miss on 43-yard field attempt.

Coaching C

When one of the least-penalized teams in the league gets called for nine of ’em, something isn’t getting across. Whatever Perry Fewell is telling his defense to do vs. RG3, it isn’t working. Tom Coughlin (above) can’t seem to get his club to do anything the easy way.
