Things have gotten so bad for the Jets in the eyes of at least one oddsmaker in Las Vegas that Rex Ryan is now a longshot to keep his job as Jets coach.
According to figures released yesterday by Bovada.lv, you’d get 3-2 odds if you bet Ryan will be on the sidelines for the first game of the 2013 season, but just 1-2 odds if you bet he’ll be gone.
Additionally, the Jets’ odds to win Super Bowl XLVII have ballooned in the last 10 days. Before the Thanksgiving debacle against the Patriots, they were 300-1 to win the Lombardi Trophy and now they are a whopping 500-1. The Texans and Patriots are the current favorites at 9-2, followed by the 49ers at 5-1, Broncos at 11-2, Falcons at 17-2 and Giants at 9-1.
