A restaurateur says he was unfairly chopped out of “Iron Chef” star Masaharu Morimoto’s TriBeCa eatery before its grand opening.
In papers filed in Manhattan Supreme Court, Michael Wainstein says that Morimoto’s Tribeca Canvas was his idea and that he sank $1 million into it before he was ousted by other investors.
Wainstein said the falling- out came after he asked for an accounting of the cash he had already invested and questioned why Morimoto said he needed more.
Wainstein wants a judge to restore him to his management position.
A rep for the owners of the Church Street eatery, which opened Wednesday, did not return a call for comment.
