Twitter brings Jets’ Tebow, teen together

Teenagers Matt Hardy and Bailey Wind survived a horrific car crash Saturday night in upstate New York that left two of their friends dead, according to the Albany Times Union. The other driver in the accident failed alcohol tests at the scene.

Hardy and Wind were recovering at a hospital, and a Twitter campaign was started to try and get Jets backup QB Tebow to call Hardy. Less than two days later, more than 50,000 people had re-tweeted with the hashtag #TebowCallMatt. Tebow got the message, because he phoned Hardy on Monday night to see how he was doing and wish him well.

Tebow then tweeted, “Thanks to everyone who got #TebowCallMatt trending & helped connect us. Matt truly inspired me. God bless y’all.”
