Crime soars in ’cane nabes

Crime rates in coastal communities socked by Hurricane Sandy soared in the days following the superstorm.

The 100th Precinct, which covers the western Rockaways, including Breezy Point, had 56 thefts reported over a 28-day span ending Sunday — a whopping 1,020 percent increase over the five break-ins during the same period last year, NYPD statistics show.

The 60th Precinct, which patrols Coney Island, experienced a 171 percent spike, while the three precincts on Staten Island saw a combined 21 percent bump in burglaries.
