This week’s couple: Happy hours

WHEN SHAINA, 26, chose to go out with Nick, 28, she was more than ready to unwind after a long day at the office. Over drinks and a wide-ranging tasting menu at China Latina in Chelsea’s Hotel Indigo, the two talked travel and tequila. So, was this just a nice after-work meet-up or will Nick and Shaina be dancing on tables in Mexico together?

He said:

Shaina is attractive and looked very professional and put-together.

We had a lot in common, and she was very fun to be around. I especially liked her sarcasm.

Early in the night, Shaina said, “I lose my morals on tequila so I stay away.” I nodded. Two hours later I asked the waiter, “You have anything with tequila in it?” Shaina busted out laughing.

As for China Latina, it was a great date spot. The food was wonderful, and I loved the décor.

We were the last people to leave, then went to a local bar for another drink. I would hang out with Shaina again, and I wouldn’t rule out a romantic interest.

She said:

Upon first meeting him, I decided Nick was very attractive and outgoing. I wasn’t nervous at all. I was just happy to be out after a long day of work.

We traded crazy travel stories, which was great. We both like to travel and do it often.

Nick and I went tit for tat with the jokes. He ordered a margarita after I told him I don’t drink tequila anymore. But there was nonstop laughter throughout the night.

To eat, our waiter Scott suggested a tasting so we shared a variety of dishes that were all amazing.

We stayed at the restaurant until they turned on every light, then went to another bar for drinks where we exchanged numbers. He is a potential romantic interest, but if anything, I have a new party and travel buddy.
