Dallas Cowboys ‘DWI killer’ Josh Brent walks out of jail barefoot

Dallas Cowboys defensive lineman Josh Brent walked out of a Texas jail barefoot yesterday — as the grandmother of teammate Jerry Brown Jr. told The Post she has no “hard feelings’’ over his death in Brent’s alleged drunken-driving accident.

“Nothing can put more punishment on someone than their own conscience,” said Theresa Clark, 63.

“That was his best friend,” she added of Brent, who cops said was speeding when his Mercedes S60 hit a curb and flipped, killing Brown, 25, in Irving early Saturday.

The two men had played football together for three years at the University of Illinois, and when Brent, 24, later made the Cowboys team, he lobbied its coaches to bring Brown on board, too, according to ex-Cowboy great Michael Irvin.

“Josh was actually the reason Jerry Brown was there,” Irvin told “NFL GameDay Morning,” saying it was the pals’ dream to play in the NFL together.

Brent’s bond was set at $500,000 yesterday — more than his season salary of $490,000.

“The bond is 16 times higher than it would have been for anybody that doesn’t play for the Dallas Cowboys,” griped Brent’s lawyer, George Milner.

Before the Cowboys’ 20-19 win over the Bengals yesterday, a moment of silence was observed at Cincinnati’s Paul Brown Stadium.
