Repubs can’t beat Hill: Newt

WASHINGTON — Republicans would be “incapable” of taking on Hillary Rodham Clinton if she runs for president in 2016, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich said yesterday.

“If their competitor in ’16 is going to be Hillary Clinton, supported by Bill Clinton and presumably a still relatively popular President Barack Obama, trying to win that will be truly the Super Bowl,” said Gingrich, a Republican.

“And the Republican Party today is incapable of competing at that level,” Gingrich told CNN’s “State of the Union.”
