Jets blitz

HERO

The Jets offensive line, which took the game over in the third quarter, breaking open big holes for RBs Bilal Powell (78 yards and a TD on 19 carries) and Shonn Greene (77 yards and a TD on 20 carries). The Jets rushed for 64 yards on 11 carries in the third quarter.

UNSUNG HERO

Mark Sanchez. His numbers (11-of-19 for 111 yards) were modest, but he avoided making bad decisions with the ball, which has been an epidemic for him too often this season. He had one fumble, but it was a strip sack that was not the result of a poor decision.

ZERO

Jaguars QB Chad Henne, who entered the game with a 3-1 career record against the Jets. He threw two INTs and was 21-of-43 for 185 yards. He missed a lot receivers, but he had a number of passes dropped, too.

KEY NUMBER

166: The number of rushing yards the Jets got from Powell, Greene and Sanchez..

QUOTE OF THE DAY

“I just think he just had that moment — that ‘Come to Jesus’ moment where he said, ‘Hey, I’ve got to get right’ — and he came out and played well.”

— Jets linebacker Calvin Pace on Mark Sanchez
