Nets’ Wallace gets fined for flopping

Gerald Wallace was hit with a $5,000 fine by the NBA yesterday afternoon for violating the league’s new anti-flopping rules for a second time this season.

The Nets’ starting small forward was fined after the league determined he flopped during the third quarter of Saturday’s 102-89 loss in Miami to the Heat while guarding LeBron James.

Wallace has picked up two violations in less than a week, after the NBA first ruled he flopped while guarding Carmelo Anthony late in overtime in last week’s 96-89 victory over the Knicks at Barclays Center.

Wallace joins teammate Reggie Evans as the only players in the NBA that have violated the new rules more than once, making themselves subject to a fine. The Nets are also the only team in the NBA that has had more than one player violate the new rules.
