The Red Bulls yesterday traded striker Sebastien Le Toux to Philadelphia for allocation cash and young forward Josue Martinez.
“We’re excited to bring Josue to the Red Bulls. Our staff considers him a young player with potential,’’ said Red Bulls sporting director Andy Roxburgh. “Sebastien indicated to us at the end of the season he wanted to return to Philadelphia and we respected that request.’’
Le Toux made $169,000 this past season but was an abject bust for the Red Bulls, who shipped him back to the Union for much-needed cash and Martinez, a 22-year-old striker who has shown flashes with the Costa Rican national team.
