Pool water at swanky Manhattan hotel made us sick: couple

This was one dirty martini.

A vacationing couple from California claims they got violently ill after inadvertently drinking pool water that splashed into a cocktail they were sharing at the Meatpacking District’s Gansevoort hotel.

“I ended up vomiting in the street,” said designer Chloe Pate, who jetted into town from San Francisco with her husband, Pixar animator Jason Deamer, July 3.

“We both got sick. The effects lasted for days.”

The pool’s water tested positive for coliform bacteria in a Post probe last June.

Pate said they were poolside after taking a dip on July 7 when a guest splashed pool water in their drink.

“Within a half an hour, we started vomiting,” she said.

“First we thought it was food poisoning, but then we realized that we didn’t eat the same breakfast,” she said. “I’m sure it was the water.”

They dropped $2,500 for their stay at the Gansevoort, and after the hotel shrugged off their complaint, Pate posted a review describing the ordeal on TripAdvisor.com.

“They had it removed,” she said. “It goes to show you how shady they’re being.”

“There’s no proof these people actually got sick,” a hotel spokeswoman said. “We offered medical attention, and they refused. Then when they were checking out, they asked for several nights for free.”
