All signs point to Revis not holding out

It appears the Jets can breathe a sigh of relief.

Star cornerback Darrelle Revis has opted against holding out in hopes of landing a new contract and will report to training camp on time Thursday, according to a report late Friday night from The Associated Press.

Revis’ agents, Neil Schwartz and Jonathan Feinsod, did not return messages yesterday.

John Geiger, Revis’ business manager and close friend tweeted Friday night, “Where is a good place to stay in Cortland?” the first indication Revis indeed would join his teammates Thursday. He later deleted the tweet.

Revis had been non-committal about holding out. Revis and the Jets had contract disputes in 2007 and 2010, the last one resulting in an ugly 35-day holdout.

The 27-year-old signed a four-year, $46 million deal in 2010 that would turn into a seven-year deal if he held out. Revis received $32.5 million over the first two years of his contract, but is scheduled to earn a total of $13.5 million over the next two years.
