Woman matched for date with theater ‘gunman’ on romance website

Worst. Match. Ever.

A Colorado woman looking for love was horrified after logging on to her Match.com account Friday afternoon to see whom the dating service had recommended for her: theater-massacre suspect James Holmes.

“It’s pretty scary getting matched to a mass murderer,” the woman, identified only as Diana, told TMZ.

Diana said she logged on to check her matches just hours after police said Holmes, 24, unleashed a shower of bullets into a crowded theater in Aurora during a midnight screening of the new Batman flick, “The Dark Knight Rises.”

She recognized Holmes’ Web site profile photo as the same one shown in the news. It also was the photo Holmes used to troll the sex Web site AdultFriendFinder.com.

According to Diana, “Classic Jim,” as he called himself, hadn’t visited the site since at least Thursday afternoon.

“I spend a lot of time thinking about the future, mind = blown,” the budding scientist wrote.

Holmes said he was looking for women ages 19-38 within 20 miles of his Aurora apartment. He said he’s agnostic, “definitely” wants kids, drinks “socially” but never smokes and considers his politics to be “middle of the road.”

“The first thing people usually notice about me are my soul penetrating eyes. Whoa that’s deep.”

“Batman” isn’t listed as one of his favorite movies. Instead, he touts “Star Wars,” “Dumb and Dumber” and the 2009 chick flick “Hachiko.” His favorite book? “Where’s Waldo.”

”You should message me if you’re interested obviously. Or lookin’ for sexy times, very nice!” he added.

Police are investigating whether Holmes’ love life had something to do with his murderous motive.

Match.com said it has taken down his profile.
