Behind those leaks: Feinstein rats out Obama

The Issue: Sen. Diane Feinstein’s comments linking national-security leaks to the White House.

***

Add Sen. Diane Feinstein to the list of Democrats who might like for President Obama to get a pink slip (“Outing the White House,” Editorial, July 25).

As the allegations against the president begin to gain traction, senior officials of his own party are beginning to see Obama’s arrogance.

Obama needs to come up with cogent answers to serious problems. Be sure that when Obama loses in November, his “Et tu, Bruté” will be directed at the Democratic Party.

Feinstein is a Beltway veteran whose name has never been associated with the usual shenanigans we have come to expect from most attention-seeking politicians.

When she talks, we all should listen.

Her incrimination of the Obama administration in the tsunami of intelligence leaks was confirmed by The New York Times reporter who broke the story.

Yet Obama and his apologists continue to deny the obvious, hoping to obfuscate the issue until after the election.

It is a sad commentary on the state of our nation when the chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee has to walk back her comments because she puts party affiliation ahead of national security.

Sens. Chuck Schumer and Dick Durbin’s talking points should not trump the outing of US secrets.

Feinstein should apologize to the citizens of this country, not to her party’s leader.

It is incredible how bad a Democratic president can be yet still have almost 100 percent support within his party and a slight edge in the popularity polls.

Voters who think that beating Obama in November will be easy should take note that Rep. Charlie Rangel also will probably get re-elected by a huge margin in November.
