Man injured in shooting outside of B’klyn diner

A 29-year-old man was shot outside of a diner in Williamsburg last night, police said.

A stocky assailant opened fire on him, shooting him five times in the lower part of his body outside of Kasia’s Polish diner on Bedford Avenue near North 9th Street at around 10:45 p.m.

“I heard pop pop pop and then looked outside and saw the man laying on the ground,” said Henry Nek, 52, owner of the diner.

“He asked me to help and so I called the ambulance right away. He was bleeding all over; there was blood everywhere,” he said.

Cops said he is recovering at Bellevue Hospital and is expected to survive the attack.

Police say the gunman is 5-foot-7 and approximately 220 pounds. He fled northbound on foot, and is still on the loose.
