Five people arrested in Queens gun-trafficking crackdown

Authorities say five people have been arrested in a crackdown on gun trafficking in southeast Queens.

The arrests were announced Thursday by District Attorney Richard A. Brown and Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly.

Authorities say most of the weapon sales were brazenly conducted in broad daylight. Some of the sales were made on street corners and in store parking lots.

Some of the defendants also are charged with selling cocaine.

The crimes occurred over the past three years.
