A student was shot yesterday while hanging out behind his high school, authorities said.

The 19-year-old victim was shot in the arm at around 12:10 p.m. at Bronx Regional HS on Westchester Avenue and Rogers Place, officials said.

“I came out of the gym, and he was just screaming, lying on the ground. He was bleeding a lot. He was screaming, ‘I don’t wanna die! I don’t wanna die!’ ” said fellow student Erick Stepan, 18.

Terrified students were ordered back to their classrooms, where the doors were immediately locked, students said.

“They made us go to our classroom and locked the doors. No one told us anything,” said Erick’s brother, Stanly Stepan, 20, also a student at the school.

“The teachers told us to mind our business. It’s crazy — you can’t even study,” he said.

The victim was taken to Lincoln Hospital in stable condition, said a spokesman for the FDNY.

It was not immediately clear what sparked the violence, police said. No arrests had been made as of last night.
