Oscar de la Renta presents pre-fall 2013 looks in NYC

There were 56 looks in Oscar de la Renta’s pre-fall 2013 collection, and a key theme appeared to be variety. There were belted A-line dresses — perfect for a politician’s wife — and separates that offered a bit more edge, like slim pants worn with short, textured jackets. While some models glided down the runway in long skirts hemmed at the lower calf, one was clad in an off-the-shoulder peplum top, in black with white polka-dots. Emerald, the recently crowned color of 2013, punctuated belts, blouses, coats and more. And while several finale looks could be described as grand, among the most exciting was a swingy fringe gown in a dazzling shade of silver.
