Weird But True

Weird but true

This is truly his lucky day.

Kiam Moriya of Hoover, Ala., turns 12 today — which, of course, is 12/12/12.

And that’s not all.

His dad is from Tokyo, where the year 2000 — when Kiam was born at 12:12 p.m. — is known in Japan as “Heisei 12.’’

Asked about all the 12s in his life, Kiam replied that it’s “just cool.’’

Kristina Green of Maricopa, Ariz., planned a Christmas display featuring a measly 600 lights.

Then her neighbor installed a spectacular show of 16,000 lights

Green knew there was no way she could compete.

So she used her red and green lights to spell out “ditto’’ — and create a giant arrow pointing next door.

She tried to make crime pay — big-time.

A woman in Myrtle Beach, NC, speeding along at 70 mph in a 45-mph zone, refused to pull over for cops.

Instead, she called 911 and offered to stop if police would promise her $300,000.

She was busted when she pulled into a driveway.

It’s time to spill the beans.

The manufacturer of one of the world’s most expensive coffees — which sells for $500 a pound — outsources part of the production to 20 huge “baristas.”

The beans are fed to 20 elephants in Thailand — and are picked out of their droppings the next day.

The resulting brew is said to have an “earthy’’ flavor.

There was an extra nude on display at Vienna’s Leopold Museum.

The current show features paintings and sculptures of naked men over the ages.

It inspired one visitor to strip and admire the art while wearing only his birthday suit.

A museum spokesman said the visitor got dressed when asked to do so by a guard, even though none of the art lovers present at the time had seemed disturbed.
