So claimed FDNY calendar boy Taylor Murphy’s dad in tearful testimony at the War of the Hoses assault trial yesterday.
“I had custody [over Taylor and his two older brothers] from practically the time he was born,” retired FDNY Deputy Chief Thomas Murphy, 65, told jurors in the bizarre case, in which Taylor is accused of punching, biting and choking his glamorous pre-op transsexual lover, Claudia Charriez.
Taylor Murphy’s lawyer has described him as a heavy-drinking bisexual, tortured in the “macho” world of FDNY by his secret sexual attraction to men who live as women.
“I don’t seem to be what he needs,” his dad testified. “There’s a hole that’s there, and I don’t fill it.” When he said he thought his son’s “always looking” for the “love of his mother,” both men sobbed.
