Knicks’ Felton has another poor performance in Brooklyn

Playing in Brooklyn just doesn’t agree with Raymond Felton.

The Knicks’ point guard turned in his second poor performance in as many tries vs. the Nets at the new Barclays Center.

Felton was a disaster in the first meeting Nov. 26, shooting 3-for-19 with five turnovers in the Knicks’ 96-89 overtime loss. He wasn’t much better last night, hitting just 3-of-12 with seven turnovers in a 100-97 win.

“Yeah, I struggled in both games here against this team. But that happens,” Felton said. “I’m just missing shots, that’s all.”

Does this mean that Felton doesn’t match up well vs. Deron Williams & Co.? Probably not yet. But two games in, it’s at least a noticeable trend. And last night Williams put up 18 points, 10 assists and just one turnover.

To his credit, Felton, who finished with eight points and seven assists, did deliver the night’s most pivotal pass. He found Jason Kidd with a cross-court dish to set up the former Nets star’s game-winning 3-pointer with 24.1 seconds left.

“I penetrated, I saw his man took a step, two steps actually inside the paint, and I said, ‘It was a wrap.’ Shot that pass right to him,” Felton said. “That man’s 5-for-7 for the game [from 3-point range at that point]. You leave him, I’m going right to him.”

Since annihilating the Heat with his 10-for-20-shooting 27-point explosion last Thursday, Felton has endured three straight poor shooting games. He was 9-for-30 against Chicago on Saturday, 4-for-15 vs. Denver on Sunday for a combined 16-for-57 (.281).

Felton said the bruised left hand he has been nursing is not the issue.

“It was hurting me then [in Miami]. I’m not gonna put anything on that,” he said. “You have games like that.”

He gets his third shot against the Nets next Wednesday. At least that one with be at the Garden.
