Cops find dump truck driver who hit & killed 11-y-o boy in Queens

The dump truck driver who struck and killed an 11-year-old in Queens this morning has been found, cops said.

Police were interviewing the driver, who did not stop after hitting the child, cops said. No criminality was suspected.

The white truck was pulling a generator about 8:50 a.m. down 80th Street in Jackson Heights, when its rear wheels struck the boy as it made a right turn onto Northern Boulevard, authorities said.

The driver did not seem to realize the truck had hit someone, and kept on going, cops said.

EMS pronounced the boy dead at the scene.

“The car hit [the child] so hard, his shoes came off,” said Olga Gonzalez, 52. “I just saw a little kid in the middle of the street and I just started crying.”
