The famed high-stepping troupe will be ringing in the new year atop the ball-drop tower in Times Square on Monday night with Mayor Bloomberg.
The mayor didn’t say how many of the 36 dancers would be on hand to help usher in 2013. If a lot show up, the mayor’s lips could get a workout.
Last year, when Lady Gaga did the honors, she and Bloomberg famously engaged in a lengthy smooch.
The mayor usually invites his guests afterward to a favorite East Side bar that was a haunt of his when he first came to New York in the 1960s.
“Can I take all the Rockettes?” Bloomberg asked yesterday on his weekly WOR radio show.
“Absolutely,” show host John Gambling responded. “You’re the mayor.”
