Comic’s phone had illegal zing tone: cops

The joke’s on him.

An aspiring Long Island standup comic was busted for carrying a stun gun disguised as a cellphone yesterday when cops pulled him over for drunken driving, police said.

Hugh Murray, 26, of Levittown “was weaving all over the road,’’ on Hempstead Turnpike in his 2009 BMW, Nassau County Detective Vincent Garcia said.

In his jacket pocket, an officer found what looked like a cellphone with a palm tree screen saver — until he noticed two buttons labeled “light” and “stun’’ and electrodes at the top, Garcia said.

“I’ve never seen one that looked like a cellphone,’’ said Garcia, who added Murray was arrested at around 3:45 a.m. in East Meadow.

Murray then became aggressive and fought two officers who tried to put him in the back of a police car.

On his Twitter page, Murray describes himself as “an agent of chaos.’’

“Chateau Briand meet drunk Hugh,” he tweeted during New Year’s Eve, apparently referencing a Long Island catering hall.

A breath test showed Murray was over the legal blood alcohol limit, Garcia said.

He was charged with DWI, criminal possession of a weapon and other violations.
