ALBANY — Gov. Cuomo got a pitch on the need for gun control yesterday — from a state worker invited to his New Year’s gathering.
Dorah Bluth gave Cuomo her two cents at the Governor’s Mansion after winning a lottery ticket to his third annual New Year’s Day open house.
The state Office of General Services technology analyst was among more than 400 New Yorkers who got a chance to greet Cuomo, daughters Michaela and Cara, and First Girlfriend/TV star Sandra Lee
Lee, host of the Food Network’s “Semi-Homemade Cooking” show, started the festivities early by serving trays of holiday cookies to guests waiting in the cold — helped by the Cuomo daughters and high-level aides.
“The governor made them for you,” joked Lee decked out in black-and-white, lace-hemmed plaid shift one Capitol observer called “very Jackie O.”
“He’s been up all night baking,” Lee added.
Another guest, picked from more than 1,300 entrants, was Tim Dooly, a General Electric employee.
“I thanked him for providing leadership to New York state government, which I think was lacking over the years,” Dooley said he told Cuomo.
“He pulled everybody together — Republicans and Democrats.”
