‘Arrested Development’ debut date up in the air

No one seems to know when the revived version of “Arrested Development” will premiere on Netflix.

Fox, last weekend, posted a blurb on its Web site — complete with an episode lineup — touting a May 4 season premiere for “Development,” the quirky sitcom returning after a seven-year layoff.

But Fox quickly yanked the blurb from its site, and a Netflix rep told the media site vulture.com that the May 4 date is incorrect.

There’s still no word on when the series will be available to Netflix customers.

“Arrested Development,” which originally aired on Fox from 2003-2006, is returning for a fourth season of 13 episodes with all of its original cast members — including stars Jason Bateman, Michael Cera, Jeffrey Tambor, Jessica Walter, Will Arnett and David Cross.

The series revolves around the Southern California-based Bluth family and its assorted characters.

Ron Howard, one of the show’s excutive producers, also narrates the series, which was created by Mitchell Hurwitz.

There’s also been talk of making an “Arrested Development” movie for the big screen, which would begin production after the current season finishes its run on Netflix — and, like the series, would feature all of the show’s stars reprising their roles.

Thus far, though, there’s no definitive word on that project.

“Arrested Development” won six Emmys and a Golden Globe award during its relatively short original run.
