Several buildings in the West Village were evacuated yesterday after cops picking up a suspect in an unrelated case discovered a white explosive powder, police sources said.
The powder was found in a Ninth Street apartment between Sixth and Seventh avenues at 8:20 a.m.
Bomb Squad tests showed that an organic explosive had been mixed with a second substance.
