Young mother dead, 3 others injured after car plunges into Jamaica Bay

A young mother was killed and three other people were injured after their car skidded off the road and plunged into shallow waters in Jamaica Bay, authorities said.

The woman, identified as 25-year-old Rockaway resident Dominique Jamison, was pronounced dead at Jamaica Hospital shortly after the accident, authorities said.

Cops busted Denise Finley, 32, for allegedly driving under the influence and without a license in the 4:30 a.m. mash-up.

Police are seeking two male witnesses who were believed to be in the car when it plunged into the icy waters but who left before authorities arrived.

Fire department divers and rescuers pulled the four crash victims from the shallow marshland area after the Ford model car careened off the road on Rockaway Boulevard, near Brookville Boulevard, around 4:30 a.m. today, according to the FDNY.

The victims and six firefighters were taken to Jamaica Hospital and treated for hypothermia and other minor injuries, authorities said.

Although the car sank into water that was just four-feet-deep, it was freezing cold, firefighters said.
