State Sen. Eric Adams wants to make gun owners responsible when their weapons are used in a crime.
Adams said he will introduce a bill that would close a loophole that lets people who supply guns to killers and shooters avoid any charges for contributing to the violence.
“For far too long, illegal- gun sellers have hidden in the back rooms, sold their guns and lent their guns to participate in violent felony actions, yet they were not attached to those actions,” Adams said at a press conference yesterday. “We’re a long way from the day of a musket or a one-shoot [pistol]. We’re now dealing with AK-47s.”
