Viacom talks

Cablevision and Viacom continued carriage talks yesterday. Neither would say if Viacom’s 18 channels would go dark at midnight at the end of their current deal.

Knight is sued

Knight Capital, the trading firm that closely avoided bankruptcy this year after computer errors, was sued by an investor who contends the stock is undervalued in a $3.75-a-share takeover by Getco.

‘PetVille’ shut

Social games publisher Zynga confirmed it has carried out 11 of the planned shutdowns of 13 game titles, with “PetVille” being the latest game jettisoned. Zynga shares closed up 1.3 percent at $2.36.

Foreclosures

Regulators will replace an effort to find victims of botched foreclosures at the 14 biggest mortgage servicers with flat penalties totaling about $10 billion, people briefed on the talks said.

Herba-lively

Herbalife, the subject of a bear raid by hedge fund manager Bill Ackman, rose 12.1 percent yesterday to close at $32.94.
