Irish roll to defeat Seton Hall

Scott Martin had a season-high 22 points on a career-high six 3-pointers and Jack Cooley added 19 points and 13 rebounds to lead No. 21 Notre Dame to a 93-74 victory over Seton Hall yesterday in South Bend, Ind., the 11th straight win for the Irish.

The winning streak is the second-longest for the Irish (13-1, 1-0 Big East) in 13 seasons under coach Mike Brey. The loss ended a seven-game winning streak for Seton Hall (12-3, 1-1), which was led by 21 points apiece from Fuquan Edwin and Aaron Cosby.

Columbia 64, Army 52

In West Point, N.Y., Steve Frankoski scored 13 points and Mark Cisco pulled down 13 rebounds and blocked four shots to lead Columbia (8-5) over Army (7-7), which got 11 points each from Ella Ellis and Kyle Wilson.

Stony Brook 65, N. Hampshire 49

In Stony Brook, N.Y., Jameel Warney scored 18 points to lead the Seawolves (10-4, 1-0 America East) over New Hampshire (4-10, 0-2).

Wagner 68, FDU 55

In Staten Island, Kenneth Ortiz scored 22 points and Mario Moody posted a double-double as Wagner (8-5, 2-0 Northeast) ran away early from Fairleigh Dickinson (6-8, 1-1).

Princeton 74, Elon 64

In Elon, N.C., Ian Hummer scored 28 points and Will Barrett scored all 17 of his points in the first half as Princeton (6-7) beat Elon (8-6).

Quinnipiac 82, LIU Brooklyn 74

In Hamden, Conn., Ike Azotam scored 17 points as Quinnipiac (5-8, 1-1 NEC) pulled away from LIU Brooklyn (5-9, 0-2).

Kenny Onyechi and Jason Brickman scored points 16 apiece for LIU.

Sacred Heart 66, St. Francis 65

In Fairfield, Conn., Shane Gibson scored a game-high 28 points, including the game-clinching free throws, as Sacred Heart (4-9, 2-0 NEC) beat St. Francis of N.Y. (5-8, 1-1), despite 20 points and 16 rebounds from the Terriers’ Jalen Cannon.
