Th-th-th-that’s oil, folks! Al Gore’s current sellout

The Issue: Al Gore’s Current TV, which he sold to oil-funded Al Jazeera before higher tax rates hit on Jan. 1.

***

I knew Al Gore was a fool when he and his then-wife Tipper tried to blame the world’s problems on rock ’n’ roll back in the ’80s, but I never thought he would jump into bed with terrorists and Big Oil (“That’s Hypocritic-Al,” Michael Goodwin, Jan. 6).

Gore sold his failed television station to terrorist-loving Al Jazeera, which is owned by the oil kings of Qatar. Gore even refused to sell the station to a fellow American.

This man was once vice president of the United States, and now he is doing business with Big Oil — all for his love of money.

Anyone who once believed in him must be devastated. I am glad I never voted for this traitor.Tom Scott

Gore chose to sell his cable channel Current TV to Al Jazeera, rejecting the bid of American Glenn Beck, saying he sold it to Al Jazeera because their views are closer to his than Beck’s.

To think that this guy was almost president.

Gore is all we need to know about today’s Democratic Party.

Now that Al Jazeera has an American television station, I guess Keith Olbermann will have a job again.

Leave it to Gore. When it comes to being a hypocrite, he takes the cake. The king of “do as I say and not as I do” has done it again.

He has taken cash from an anti-American television station and tried to speed the sale in order to beat the tax-increase deadline — a tax increase he supported.

How about the fact that the money is earned through the sale of oil? When does it ever end?

Any chance the former vice president’s cable- TV station will be renamed Al-Gorezeera?

Perhaps Gore would have thought nothing of setting up Tokyo Rose to broadcast within the US.

As a World War II veteran, I sure as hell knew who and what the enemy was when my ship was blown up.

Gore is not simply a hypocrite but also subversive for forgetting the United States is at war, more so than it was during Pearl Harbor, due to the catastrophic attack on the World Trade Center and over 3,000 US casualties.
