Body found in Marine Park ID’d as missing girl

A body found naked and burned in Marine Park this weekend was idenfied as that of a missing 14-year-old Brooklyn girl, police said.

Shaniesha Forbes, a student at the Academy for Young Writers high school in East New York, was last seen Friday, authorities said.

Her family reported her missing last week and told cops that she’d disappeared from home several times before, law-enforcement sources said.

Her body — its hands, face and legs burned — was found face-up in the sand Sunday morning in a nature preserve near the remnants of a bonfire, officials said. Several beer cans were found about 50 feet away.

“She was naked,” a law-enforcement source said. “She was burned. She was [partly] buried in the sand. It looks bad.”

Police said her death has not yet been ruled a homicide. The burns on her body were not life-threatening, and she suffered no other signs of trauma such as a gunshot wound, stabbing or strangulation, sources said. The results of an autopsy are pending.

The teen’s body was identified today, two days after a 911 caller reported finding it on a sandy clearing next to a foot path through heavy brush in Marine Park.

Shaniesha lived nearby with her family in an apartment on Avenue I, a little over four miles from where her body was found.

“I know she moved in recently, around Dec. 1,’’ said upstairs neighbor Roslyn Griffithscq, adding she believed that the teen only lived with her mother.

Cops went to her high school today to talk to students and staffers.

The teen’s Facebook page is plastered with Justin Bieber pictures.
