Brooklyn’s Ghost Dog ready for a new haunt

Who can resist a snout like this?

Ghost Dog, the legendary 120-pound Cane Corso mastiff who roamed Brooklyn’s Prospect Park for four years until he was captured by an animal-rescue group in May, is finally going to get a home.

Sean Casey, 32, who runs an animal-rescue shelter in Kensington, said yesterday that taming the mammoth mastiff has been so successful that dog lovers are begging to take home the gentle giant.

More than 100 people have applied to take home Ghost Dog. But the food bill won’t be cheap. Casey says he doesn’t exactly know how much Ghost Dog wolfs down each day, but “it’s a big old bowl of food.”

If anyone thinks it’ll be easy handling the massive three-foot tall Italian breed of mastiff, they’re barking up the wrong tree.

“It’s OK to have a 120-pound dog, but when you have a 120-pound bucking bronco it’s going to take a special person, preferably someone strong,” said Casey.
