7 more schools on ‘close’ line

Education officials yesterday identified seven more city public schools they’d like to close starting this summer — raising the total on the chopping block to 24.

Among the doomed yesterday was the Performance School in The Bronx, an elementary school opened in 2008 to replace another troubled school.

The proposals — not final unless approved by the education policy board before spring — also gave a reprieve to dozens of schools earlier slated to close, including DeWitt Clinton HS in The Bronx and Boys & Girls HS in Bedford-Stuyvesant.
