RG3 faces tough rehab

Robert Griffin III had reconstructive surgery on his right knee yesterday and could be facing several weeks on crutches, a grueling rehabilitation of six to eight months and a strong possibility of missing at least part of the Redskins’ 2013 season, sources said.

The Redskins quarterback had his lateral collateral ligament repaired and his ACL in his right knee reconstructed for a second time.

The surgery was performed in Florida by orthopedist James Andrews, who was optimistic that Griffin would be back on the field this fall.
