Bus shot in Queens, gunman still at large

A gunman fired once on a Queens bus this morning, shattering the rear window and terrifying passengers on board, authorities said.

Cops are still searching for the gunman, who opened fire on the bus that was rolling on Springfield Boulevard and 141st Avenue, officials said.

None of the eight passengers on board or the driver were injured.

It appeared the shooter pulled up next to the Q85 before opening fire, according to witnesses.

“The bus turned the corner on 140th St and at the light the driver pulled up next to the bus,” said Daneek Miller, President of the Amalgamated Transit Union.

“The driver rolled down his window and stared at the bus driver. The bus driver didn’t think much of it, but as he turned the corner the driver of the vehicle shot at the back window.”

Miller said the driver is “shaken up.”

Witnesses told cops a Chevy SUV was spotted leaving the scene.
