‘Cannibal cop’ case giving jurors indigestion

Dozens of squeamish prospective jurors were excused from serving on the “cannibal cop” trial yesterday after saying they were too horrified by the shocking charges.

“As a woman, it literally makes my skin crawl,” one panelist wrote on a questionnaire submitted to the court.

Several people said they were disturbed that Gilberto Valle, 28, was an NYPD cop, with one writing: “It is kind of hard to believe a police officer could do things like this.”

Another wrote, “The evidence of his guilt is clear. Frankly, I’m surprised he isn’t being charged with other crimes.”

Of 90 people who filled out questionnaires yesterday, 29 were excused based on written responses.

Manhattan federal Judge Paul Gardephe said it was unclear whether there would be enough jurors to fill the jury box following additional questioning scheduled for Monday morning.
