Mara Hoffman

The Who: Angela Simmons and Bryan Boy were joined in the front row by Olympians Tara Lipinski and Nastia Liukin. Two well-dressed toddlers also scored prime seating, each wearing protective ear muffs that prevented them from overhearing any good gossip.

The What: True to her signature aesthetic, Hoffman rolled out a vibrant set of prints inspired by gypsies, tramps and thieves. Who knew they had such good taste? The designer’s geometric dreams were realized on cropped pants, caftans and body-hugging frocks. The bright pink, teal and deep orange hues were momentarily interrupted for a trio of leopard print looks. There was lots of sheer, interspersed with a few dense sweaters and coats.

The Highlight: A rainbow-hued zebra print ended the show on the sweetest of notes.

T
he Takeaway: If this is how tramps dress, I’ll take that label as a compliment.
