Missing Staten Island mom met a man in Turkey: officials

Missing Staten Island mom Sarai Sierra apparently met a man while vacationing in Turkey and was corresponding with him online before she vanished, officials said yesterday.

He is considered a suspect in her disappearance, they said.

The man called himself Taylan, a popular Turkish name, in the Web messages he exchanged with Sierra.

An official said that Sierra, 33, “presumably met” him after she arrived in Istanbul and that they agreed to see each other at some point at the Galata Bridge, a tourist destination about a mile from her hostel.

Sierra left for Istanbul Jan. 7. She was scheduled to return to the Big Apple on Jan. 21, but never checked in for her flight back home.
