De Blasio rolling in dough from buses

Democratic mayoral candidate Bill de Blasio opposes Mayor Bloomberg’s push to get rid of job protections for striking school-bus drivers while pocketing $9,500 in campaign contributions from a lawyer for the bus companies.

Atlantic Express lawyer Alan Sclar has bundled nearly $10,000 for de Blasio’s campaign, while the pro-union public advocate urges the mayor to guarantee jobs for drivers.

The bus companies want to keep the current job protections in place, making it more difficult for competitors paying lower wages to under-bid them when their contracts with the city expire.

“Bill de Blasio would bring the parties together around the clock to mediate a solution that gets our school buses rolling again,” said campaign spokesperson Dan Levitan.
