Cincy outlasts Rutgers

Sean Kilpatrick scored 19 points and 24th-ranked Cincinnati intensified its defense in the second half, overcoming a 10-point deficit to beat visiting Rutgers, 62-54.

The Bearcats (17-4, 5-3 Big East) held the Scarlet Knights to 24 points in the second half. Myles Mack scored 15 points to lead the Scarlet Knights (12-8, 3-6), who have lost four in a row.

Georgetown 74, Seton Hall 52

In Washington, Otto Porter scored 20 points, and Georgetown (15-4, 5-3 Big East) made a season-high 15 steals in a win over Seton Hall.

Brian Oliver scored 13 points and Aaron Cosby 12 for the Pirates (13-8, 2-6), who have lost six of seven.

St. Joseph’s 66, Fordham 62

In The Bronx, Carl Jones tallied 19 points to help Saint Joseph’s outlast Atlantic 10 Conference-foe Fordham.

There were eight ties and 21 lead changes before Fordham’s Branden Frazier hit two free throws to put the Rams (6-15, 2-4) up 62-61 with 47 seconds left. But Jones made five free throws in the final 33 seconds to seal the win for St. Joe’s (12-7, 3-3).

NJIT 108, Fisher 69

In Newark, Chris Flores scored 32 points without missing a shot and became New Jersey Institute of Technology’s career scoring leader as the Highlanders routed Fisher.

Flores had a career-high 32 points on perfect shooting. He was 11 for 11 on field goal attempts, 7 of 7 on 3-pointers and 3 for 3 at the foul line.
