Gal in a ‘whirl’ of pain

John Travolta, he’s not.

A liquored-up public-relations exec tried to pull a “Saturday Night Fever” move on an unwilling dance partner — whose head he whacked on a marble countertop during a party at a Chinatown nightclub, according to a new lawsuit.

Five-foot, 90-pound party-goer Cassandra Elmi says James Monahan grabbed her as she was on her way to the ladies’ room and forced her to dance at the hip Doyers Street bar Apotheke in October 2010.

“He forced himself onto [Elmi] to dance against her will,” the lawsuit said. “Monahan dropped [her] down in an attempt to dip her and slammed her head violently against the marble countertop.”

Elmi, an acting student and waitress, was rushed to a hospital, where she received three stitches, but couldn’t afford follow-up medical care because she doesn’t have health insurance, the suit says.

“It was a consensual tango,” quipped Monahan’s attorney Mark Risman. “he was really very concerned about her. It’s a little surprising to see some of the allegations.”

Elmi is suing Monahan, his self-run firm, and the bar for allegedly allowing him to get drunk and assault her.

The bar owners did not return messages.
