Chris Christie’s wife says he’d make a good president but notes family not planning 2016 run

SEASIDE HEIGHTS, NJ — New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie’s wife says her husband would make a good president.

But in an interview Friday on NBC’s “Today” show, first lady Mary Pat Christie said the family is not plotting a 2016 presidential run now.

She says that she and Chris Christie have talked about their options for the future.

She says they’ll talk more about what the future holds after the Republican’s re-election campaign.

Christie is expected to face Democratic State Sen. Barbara Buono in the November election.

Both Mary Pat and Chris Christie were featured on “Today” in a broadcast from Seaside Heights. They were promoting the reopening of the Jersey shore for the summer seven months after it was hit by Superstorm Sandy.
