The world’s largest LEGO model — a 5.3 million-brick “Star Wars” X-wing fighter — was unveiled in Times Square yesterday.

“I built pretty big things with LEGO, but this is the biggest ever,” LEGO “Master Builder” Erik Varszegi said at the toy company’s unveiling of the 23-ton spaceship, which took 32 workers 17,000 hours to make.

Begun in the Czech Republic a year ago, the model will remain until tomorrow, when it takes off for the LEGOLAND California Resort. It promotes the Cartoon Network show “The Yoda Chronicles.”

The former largest LEGO model was a 3 million-brick robot in Minnesota’s Mall of America.
