Hailo says NYC ban would hack $100M

Taxi-cab app Hailo claims that blocking its smartphone technology in the Big Apple could cost it about $100 million.

That’s the value Hailo CEO Jay Bregman places on the New York City market, according to court papers filed this week and obtained by The Post.

The livery-cab industry has sued to stop a city-run pilot program for testing apps that allow people to hail yellow cabs through their smartphones.

Hailo argues in court papers that black-car companies should post $100 million bond if their case eventually fails in lengthy litigation, after which it might be too late for the company to re-enter the city’s market.

A judge has issued a temporary restraining order, which blocks apps such as Hailo and Uber from operating under the disputed program until an appeals court panel reviews the case at a hearing on May 20.
