Pharrell wasn’t the first to rock the Mountie hat

Rummaging deep in the archives, The Post has unearthed the style icon who inspired Pharrell Williams’ look at the Grammys: Early 20th century baseball commissioner Kenesaw Mountain Landis, of course.

The above photo composite clearly shows where Pharrell – the hitmaker featured on Daft Punk’s “Get Lucky” – got the idea for his now-signature Mountie hat, which he has worn non-stop on stages and red carpets for the past three weeks.

Landis, a federal judge, is best known for his handling of the infamous Black Sox scandal in which he expelled that daft punk “Shoeless Joe” Jackson and other members of the 1919 Chicago White Sox from baseball for conspiring with gamblers to throw the World Series.
