Forget purple and white — NYU is all about the green.
New York University is the nation’s most expensive college, costing students a staggering $62,000 a year, a new study says.
Business Insider factored in all the costs of attending college — including room and board, tuition and required fees — to arrive at the nest-egg-draining tally.
The US Department of Education previously ranked NYU the country’s 64th-most expensive college, based only on its tuition fees of $41,206. The agency ranked another New York institution — Columbia University — as the nation’s most expensive, with a hefty $45,290 annual tuition.
But after all fees are considered, the study reveals that NYU costs $61,977 annually — or about $247,900 for all four years.
Harvey Mudd College in California ranked second in the nation, at a total annual cost of $61,760.
